The National Taxation Bureau of Taipei, Ministry of Finance (NTBT) announced drawing winning numbers for the Jul-Aug 2022 Uniform Invoice Lottery on September 25th, 2022. Of the uniform invoices issued by business entities in Taipei City, three won the Special Prize (NT$10 million), four won the Grand Prize (NT$2 million), and 15 won the million-dollar prize of the cloud invoice award.
The NTBT states that 22 of all receipts issued by Taipei business entities won over NT$1 Million Prizes and that nineteen are cloud invoices. To encourage consumers to use a carrier to store cloud invoices, the Ministry of Finance set awards in the uniform receipt lottery during the Jul-Dec 2022 period: one for each of the Special Prize and Grand Prize, three sets for each of the First through Sixth Prize, 30 sets for the NT$1 Million Prize for cloud invoices only, 16,000 sets for the NT$2,000 Prize, 100,000 sets for the NT$800 Prize, and 2.15 million sets for the NT$500 Prize. Besides, there are 2,266,030 sets of exclusive prizes for cloud invoices in each period, and the sum of the awards reaches NT$1.217 billion. Those with a carrier, such as a mobile barcode, EasyCard, or iPASS Card, can scan their purchases on their carrier barcode and receive their cloud invoices without any paper certificates of the electronic invoice. In addition to common prizes, cloud invoice receipt holders have extra chances to win exclusive prizes. Since the cloud invoices awards are exclusive to cloud invoice receipt holders, they have a much higher probability of winning than in the general drawing. If one receipt's number matches both the common and the cloud invoice's exclusive prizes, the owner of the receipt could redeem only one of those prizes.
The NTBT further points out that offshore e-commerce suppliers shall issue cloud invoices to their purchasers when selling electronic services to domestic individuals in the territory of the R.O.C. Thus, the Ministry of Finance deems the email address the purchasers leave as part of registration information as a carrier for storing cloud invoices for consumers. In the Jul-Aug 2022 period, one and 5 of the cloud invoices issued by offshore e-commerce suppliers won the Grand Prize and the exclusive NT$1-million prize respectively. When an individual holds the cloud invoice issued by an offshore electronic service supplier and this cloud invoice luckily wins the lottery, the E-invoice Platform sends a winning notice to the email registered to the supplier by the individual. Consumers may download the redemption APP to link their email registered as the offshore electronic supplier's client carrier to the consumers' mobile barcode accounts to claim the winnings. For those who don't yet link to the mobile barcode account, the winner can click on the hyperlink in the winning notice email sent by the E-invoice Platform to get a one-time password expiring within 48 hours. The prizewinner can print the winning certified copies of electronic uniform invoices on an Interactive Kiosk located in 7-11, FamilyMart, Hi-Life, and OKmart convenience stores. With the certified copies on paper, the winner shall redeem the winnings at the redemption locations within the redemption deadline.
The NTBT urges consumers to store cloud invoices on carriers when shopping and check winning notices in email inboxes. Proactively requesting a cashier to scan the purchases on the carrier barcode not only raises the holders' chances of winning the lottery but also frees the holders from worries about missing or damaged vouchers. Besides, storing cloud invoices on carriers saves energy, reduces carbon, and protects our environment.
