1968 | ❖ Six service offices, Chengzhong, Zhongshan, Songshan, Guting, Yanping, and Wanhua offices, were set up. |

1971 | ❖ Investigation Office, Jiancheng Office, and Daan Office were set up. |

1975 | ❖ Profit-seeking enterprises income tax assessment, case selection, and review operations were computerized. |
1978 | ❖ The Bureau’s Service Center was established to answer taxpayers’ questions on tax laws and regulations. |
1984 | ❖ The Bureau’s office relocated to No. 547, Section 4, Zhongxiao East Road. ❖ Toll-free service number 080-21-1010 was launched in July 1984. |
1988 | ❖ Nangang Office was divided into Nangang Office and Neihu Office; Yanping Office was divided into Yanping Office and Datong Office. |

1996 | ❖ The Bureau's new internet tax information service website was officially launched. ❖ The Bureau fully implemented the individual income tax teller system. |
1998 | ❖ Implemented online filing of various income statements. |
1999 | ❖ Implemented the electronic individual income tax return filing system (including two-dimensional barcode and online tax return filing). |
2000 | ❖ Implemented the online profit-seeking enterprise income tax return filing system. ❖ Promoted the new system of the Tobacco and Alcohol Tax Act. |
2002 | ❖ The income tax return filing period was changed and inquiry service on income information was provided. |
2003 | ❖ The National Taxation Bureau began to directly collect business tax since 2003. ❖ Daan Office and Songshan Office were restructured to be Daan Branch and Songshan Branch. |
2004 | ❖ Promoted the non-arm’s length transfer pricing system for profit-seeking enterprise income tax. |
2006 | ❖ Promoted the Income Basic Tax Act (minimum taxation system). |
2008 | ❖ Set up a tax reform team to develop an anti income tax avoidance system. |
2010 | ❖ Zhongzheng Office and Xinyi Office were restructured to be Zhongzheng Branch and Xinyi Branch. ❖ Inquiry service on individual income tax deduction information was provided. ❖ Overseas income was included for the basic income taxation. |
2011 | ❖ Promoted the signing of advance pricing agreement cases and implemented the audit of transfer pricing cases. ❖ Promoted the service of the pre-calculation of individual income tax. ❖ Promoted the new specifically selected goods and services tax system. |
2012 | ❖ Promoted the abolition of tax exemptions for military and education personnel’s salary income. |
2013 | ❖ Renamed as the National Taxation Bureau of Taipei, Ministry of Finance to be in line with the organizational reform of the Executive Yuan. |
2015 | ❖ Promoted the "feedback tax" system of income tax. |
2016 | ❖ Promoted the house and land transactions income taxation system. ❖ Discontinued taxation on real estate for the specifically selected goods and services tax. ❖ Promoted the commodity tax reduction/refund for scrapping or exporting of used automobiles and motorcycles for new vehicles. ❖ Promoted the use of NHI card to inquire income and deduction information and to file individual income tax return online. ❖ Relocated Zhongzheng Branch to No. 2 Chaozhou Street. |

2020 | ❖ In response to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, announced the extension of the 2019 income tax return filing deadline from May 1 to June 30, 2020. ❖ Implemented the nation-wide one-stop inquiry service of financial inheritance. |
2021 | ❖ In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, announced the extension of the 2020 income tax return filing deadline from May 1 to June 30, 2021 (for medical personnel, it can be extended to July 31, 2021). ❖ Promoted mobile phone tax filing and mobile phone verification services for the first time when handling individual income tax returns for 2020. ❖ Promoted the taxation refinement of the house and land transactions income tax (referred to as the House and Land Transactions Income Tax 2.0). ❖ Promoted the National Taxation Bureau’s one-stop reply of financial inheritance information. ❖ Relocated Wanhua Office to No. 1, Lane 90, Wanda Road. |
2022 | ❖ Providing trial calculation services for estate tax returns. ❖ In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, announced the extension of the 2021 income tax return filing deadline from May 1 to June 30, 2022. ❖ Added intelligent customer service "National Tax Helper" to provide consultation services related to tax regulations. ❖ Established the "Cooperative Educare Service Center" to create a childcare friendly working environment. ❖ Relocated the Xinyi Branch to the 5F, No. 86, Fude Street, and moved into the newly constructed Xinyi District Administration Center to share offices with other administrative agencies. |
